The therapeutic sound is delivered using Himalayan and gongs and tuning forks. For my personalised 1-2-1 sessions I have been trained and am intuitive for how to tailor the instruments to help with specific client problems.
Over the years research has uncovered certain instruments seem to affect a person in different ways. I have created a treatment specific to allow clients to enter into a deep relaxation for example If a client has muscle tension, Himalayan bowls may be placed on the body and played in a specific way – whereas if a client was in chronic pain a gong or crystal bowl may be used. I specialise in combining instruments in a specific way to induce brainwave frequencies, enabling a person to enter an altered state of consciousness (ASC) similar to very deep relaxation or meditation.
I have been trained in the BAST method of sound therapy where I use reflective techniques to enable a client to gain insight into their personal ‘wholing’ process. The reflective process is based around the ‘Cooper Sax Model of Experiential Processing: The 5Rs’. This model is also affectionately known as ‘The 5Rs’. Reflective techniques combined with the therapeutic sound really enables us to gain a deep insight into a person’s process and empower them to make life-changing improvements to their health and wellbeing.
I am also a Student counsellor, so I am able to effectively speak with clients about what the process brought up for them during the treatment in a safe environment, enabling the client to work through any issues that arose.
I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and I spend my days speaking to delegates about the importance of stress related illnesses. Therefore, I am passionate about the treatment methodologies that promote relaxation and help reduce stress and can be a very effective way, to prevent and treat illness. The BAST method, combined with my counselling skills, compliments my delivery of sound therapy and my treatment is very effective at reducing stress and any other illnesses relating to disease. I can help a client to relax deeply, achieving an altered state of consciousness similar to deep meditation.
